Live in or Live Out Nanny with growth potential (Port Coquitlam)

We are looking for a full-time live in or live out nanny (based on the needs of the best applicant) for our 2 children - 3 1/2 year old boy and 1 year old daughter starting May 1st, 2012 8:30am-5:00pm M-F. Some evenings and weekends may be required but not regularly. You will be paid additional for those times.

Your primary job is to take care of our children by providing a loving, fun, stimulating and engaging environment that is centred them. We encourage outdoor play, arts and crafts, music, reading, dance and physical activity. You will be required to prepare healthy snacks and lunch for our child everyday. Everything is in walking distance so we would like you to take the kids swimming or to play group at the Hyde Creek Rec Centre. We request light house keeping duties that can include: kids laundry, tidying up after our child, general cleaning and meal preparation for family. We require someone who is fluent (oral and written) in English.

The growth opportunity is to help run the daycare that may be set-up in the basement suite in June or July. I would manage the admin and filling the spaces. At that time you will be responsible for up to 7 children and we would hire you an assistant if needed. Your wage would be increased at that point, benefits and vacation would be provided.

The ideal candidate:
Is a mature female (over the age of 20)
Is a non-smoker
Is punctual, committed, polite and friendly
Has ECE accreditation * very important if we set-up Daycare
Has at least 2 years child care experience working with children
Is energetic and genuinely enjoys children
Is first aid certified - St. John's Ambulance/Canadian Red Cross approved children's CPR & First Aid
Has a reliable method of transportation and drivers license
Can provide at least 3 references, one from your current child care position and a further reference from a previous nannying position
Will submit to and has a clean criminal record
